Where there’s a will, there’s a way. And where there’s a need, there’s an entrepreneur. The Fillenburgs had been farming the land for three generations before setting out to bridge a retail gap around sporting goods in 2015.
From their dairy farming roots to their sports loving passion, the Fillenburgs have shaped the shop local scene in Leduc, Alberta. Working as a family, they opened Evolution Sports to bring a range of athletic goods to the area.
The result? A state-of-the-art batting cage now allows local baseball players to join simulations and virtual tournaments. Knowledgeable staff provide personalized service for any athletic pursuit. Above all, families across the area have access to the equipment they need to build the memories they crave.
Whether you find them working the land or working the shop floor, the Fillenburgs believe communities are families. Everything they do is about serving theirs.
In their own words: “We’re a family of farmers. We work hard, day in and day out, to take care of family, friends and by extension our community and customers. We see our community as our family. Nothing is more important.”
Bet you didn’t know: Play ball! The Fillenburgs work with local associations to run free camps so would-be players can explore the game. They also provide free gear through the local Boys and Girls Club to ensure any child can have the chance to play.
We are 200 Strong.
